Mihir Vora, Founder & CEO of Magnus Medi, who has taken India’s medical value travel sector by storm with astounding success is a testimony to this fact. A master in the art of chasing dreams, this young entrepreneur has a long-term vision and loads of leadership qualities – traits more ingrained than inherited.
Mihir who has earned his Master in Management Studies had a penchant for marketing and he learned his first entrepreneurial lessons during his college days between 2004 and 2007 when he doubled up to market electrical products in the company of his uncle. It was the sterling performance that he showcased during this period, selling electrical products worth several million rupees that convinced him that his DNA contained the seeds of entrepreneurship.
An avid reader, planner and strategist, Mihir rightly sensed the country’s potential in medical value travel market predicted to touch a whopping $ 8 billion by 2020 and forayed into medical tourism by launching Magnus Medi in 2010. At a time when global healthcare costs are skyrocketing, Mihir believes that the world can learn from much from India that provides NABH-certified, high quality, and cost-effective healthcare compared to the rest of the world. He, however, concedes that despite inherent advantages India has not been able to position itself as the world’s leading healthcare destination while other Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore with little resources are stealing the thunder right under the nose of India.
Mihir believes that India’s medical value travel stakeholders must consolidate their efforts and leverage the global opportunities innovating, reinventing and repositioning themselves with strategies that are smart and slick.
